Angkor Wat after Covid-19





 After being closed for five years to repair the causeway, the main bridge to Angkor Wat is scheduled to reopen later this year or early next year.  The Hal Bridge was repaired by a team of Japanese experts from Sophia University, but used the strength of Cambodians with resin blood to build Angkor Wat.  Foreign tourists have also begun to return to Cambodia after a hiatus of more than two years due to Covid-19.
 

 In the first five months of 2022, Siem Reap received a total of 1.02 million tourists, an increase of 744% compared to the same period in 2021, which was 121,649, including:

 There were 45,779 international tourists, an increase of 859% compared to the same period in 2021, there were 4,774.

                                         

 Tourists from:

 1. China: 7,789 people, equal to 17%, an increase of 172% compared to 2021, 2,860 people.

 2- France 6,400 people equal to 13%, an increase of 1.938% compared to 2021 314 people.

 3- 4,311 in the UK, equal to 9%, an increase of 4855% compared to 87 in 2021.
